Freight rarely goes wrong on the water or in the air; it goes wrong in the handoffs. Our process is built around eliminating those gaps. Before cargo moves, we confirm Incoterms, commodity classification, packaging and delivery requirements so that surprises are resolved at the desk, not at the dock.

A practical comparison our logistics specialists use when advising importers and overseas buyers.
| Mode | Typical Transit | Relative Cost | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air Freight | 1–7 days door-to-door | Highest per kg | Urgent parts, high-value electronics, samples, perishables |
| Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL) | 2–6+ weeks port-to-port | Lowest per kg internationally | Heavy, bulky or planned inventory replenishment |
| Truck Freight (FTL/LTL) | 1–5 days within North America | Moderate | Regional distribution, cross-border U.S./Canada/Mexico |
| Rail & Intermodal | 3–10 days long-haul | Lower than truck on long lanes | Dense, non-urgent freight over 500+ miles |
Transit ranges are general industry guidance and vary by lane, season, carrier schedule and customs clearance.

A production line stops when a critical component is stuck overseas. We route it next-flight-out, pre-clear documentation and arrange direct delivery to the plant.Mode: Expedited Air Freight
Booth crates must hit the advance warehouse window. We schedule ocean or air to arrive on time, coordinate marshaling yard check-in and book return freight before the show closes.Mode: Trade Show Logistics
Multiple U.S. suppliers ship small orders to one buyer abroad. We consolidate at origin into a single LCL or FCL booking, lowering per-unit freight and simplifying customs.Mode: Ocean Consolidation
Straight answers from our logistics team to the questions we hear most.
Choose air freight when speed, high cargo value or tight production schedules matter more than cost; typical airport-to-airport transit is a few days. Choose ocean freight for heavier, bulkier or less time-sensitive cargo; it costs significantly less per kilogram but port-to-port transit usually takes several weeks depending on the trade lane.
FCL (Full Container Load) means you book an entire 20ft or 40ft container, which is usually more economical above roughly 13–15 cubic meters and reduces handling. LCL (Less than Container Load) consolidates your cargo with other shippers, so you pay only for the space used, but it involves extra handling at container freight stations.
Provide the pickup and delivery addresses, commodity description, number of pieces, dimensions and weight of each piece, whether the cargo is hazardous or temperature-sensitive, the ready date, and the Incoterms agreed with your buyer or supplier. HS codes and cargo value help estimate duties and insurance.
Most international shipments need a commercial invoice, packing list and a transport document such as a Bill of Lading or Air Waybill. Depending on the product and destination, you may also need a certificate of origin, export declaration, licenses or permits, and safety data sheets for dangerous goods.

For domestic shows, plan at least two to three weeks ahead to meet advance warehouse deadlines. For international exhibitions, begin four to eight weeks ahead to allow for ocean transit, ATA Carnet or temporary import documentation, and on-site delivery scheduling.
